Project Finance – Financial Modeller
Our client, a highly active bank in the Infrastructure and Project Finance space, is seeking a Financial Modeller with proven experience at a consulting firm, boutique modelling firm, bank or similar.
The Role:
- Develop, maintain, review and modify sophisticated Excel-based financial models for new and existing business; encompassing integrated cash flow projections, P&L and balance sheet for special purpose entities
- Attend client meetings and be a point of contact for clients' model enquiries
- Liaise closely with European origination teams in an internal advisory capacity
- Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess project risks and bankability.
- Monitor project performance in the operational phase by updating financial models to reflect changing assumptions, comparing actuals against planned, modify models where restructuring is involved, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with credit analysts in reviewing risk materials related to financial models
- Participate in due diligence activities, ensuring that due diligence reports (technical, legal, tax) and other project contracts are accurately reflected in financial models.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial models (both internal and third party models)
Role requirements:
- Proven financial modelling experience within structured finance, advisory, project developers/sponsors or similar organisations.
- Strong track record of building and maintaining complex financial models in Excel involving integrated financial statements.
- Working knowledge of structured finance principles, including debt structuring, cash flow analysis, risk assessment, financial statement analysis, and documentation.
- Sound knowledge of the banking industry, especially in risk-relevant lending business will be an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VBA programming.
