Andesite Partners has been engaged by a highly regarded international investment firm to identify an exceptional Investment Associate for its London-based infrastructure investment team. Our client is an established investor with a strong international presence, an impressive investment track record and a highly experienced team deploying capital across infrastructure and infrastructure-related businesses. The firm pursues a commercially driven investment strategy, identifying opportunities to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns through disciplined underwriting, active ownership and long-term value creation. This is an exceptional opportunity for a high-performing M&A investment banker seeking to transition into infrastructure private equity and develop into a well-rounded investment professional. Unlike traditional advisory roles, the position offers genuine exposure to investment decision-making, commercial due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio management, alongside experienced senior investment professionals.
The Role
The successful candidate will join a high-calibre investment team and gain direct exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from initial opportunity assessment through to execution and ongoing asset management.
- Evaluating new investment opportunities across infrastructure, energy, utilities and related sectors.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis, valuation and investment modelling.
- Supporting the execution of acquisitions, disposals and other strategic transactions.
- Conducting commercial, financial and operational due diligence.
- Assessing business models, competitive dynamics, industry fundamentals and investment risks.
- Preparing investment committee materials and presenting commercially grounded investment recommendations.
- Working closely with senior investment professionals, external advisers and portfolio company management teams.
- Supporting the ongoing monitoring and strategic development of portfolio investments.
Essential Requirements
- Approximately 2–5 years of relevant M&A/IBD professional experience, ideally within a leading investment bank, independent advisory firm or established investment platform.
- Investment banking coverage of Infrastructure, Energy, Power & Utilities, Natural Resources or adjacent sectors.
- Generalist M&A bankers with strong transaction experience and a demonstrable interest in infrastructure investing.
- Strong M&A transaction experience, including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence and execution.
- Professionals from established infrastructure or private equity investment teams.
- Demonstrable analytical ability, intellectual rigour and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to assess investment opportunities critically, form independent views and articulate compelling investment arguments.
- Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
- German or Spanish is highly regarded.
