About the Opportunity
We are currently working with a specialist London-based venture capital investment firm focused on direct, single-asset secondary investments in venture-backed companies . The firm is seeking an Investment Analyst / Associate to join its investment team and support the sourcing, evaluation, execution and monitoring of investments in individual private companies. This opportunity offers direct exposure to venture capital secondary transactions, company-level investment underwriting and the broader private technology investment ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, screen and evaluate direct secondary investment opportunities in venture-backed companies.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, valuation and commercial due diligence on individual businesses.
- Assess company fundamentals, business models, competitive positioning, growth prospects and investment risks.
- Develop financial models, investment return scenarios and sensitivity analyses.
- Support transaction execution, including due diligence coordination, investment structuring and documentation.
- Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for investment committee discussions.
- Analyse secondary transaction pricing, potential liquidity events and exit opportunities.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and relevant market developments.
- Support investment origination and maintain relationships across the venture capital ecosystem.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Ideally 2–3 years of relevant professional experience, with some flexibility for candidates up to mid-career level.
- Experience in direct Venture Capital, Growth Equity or direct VC Secondaries investing .
- Demonstrated involvement in evaluating and underwriting investments in individual private companies.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities.
- Understanding of venture-backed business models, growth drivers and investment risks.
- Experience conducting commercial and financial due diligence.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present investment recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic investment environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience investing in growth-stage or late-stage venture-backed businesses.
- Exposure to secondary transactions involving individual private company shares.
- Familiarity with technology-driven sectors, including enterprise software, AI and fintech.
- Experience preparing investment committee materials and supporting investment execution.
- Understanding of private company liquidity events, exit valuations and secondary market dynamics.
