About the job

ABOUT THE ROLE

KBW is looking for an enthusiastic European Financials Specialist Sales Analyst to join its specialist sales team in London. This is an opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career candidate looking to build a career in equity markets. You will promote KBW’s European and Japanese Financials research to institutional investors, support transactions including IPOs, and contribute to stock-picking and alpha generation. Working with experienced salespeople, research analysts, traders and bankers, you will build a strong understanding of listed banks, insurers and diversified financial companies. From day one, you will combine market analysis, client service and commercial thinking. You will turn detailed research and fast-moving news into clear investment messages, build trusted relationships and use AI to improve team data, workflows and productivity. The role is subject to the Conduct Rules set by the FCA.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Producing concise daily commentary on KBW research, market news, earnings, valuations and share-price moves across European and Japanese Financials.
  • Turning complex research into clear, client-ready messages that explain the investment view, key risks and the “so what?” for investors.
  • Monitoring company, sector, macroeconomic and regulatory developments to identify timely talking points and trade ideas.
  • Distributing KBW research, tracking client engagement and prioritising follow-up.
  • Organising corporate access events, roadshows and investor meetings with senior management from banks, insurers and diversified financial firms.
  • Supporting equity transactions, including IPOs and follow-on offerings, through client materials, feedback coordination and investor outreach.
  • Building buy-side relationships and progressively taking ownership of clients and revenue opportunities.
  • Using AI and automation to summarise information, support client content, improve data and streamline routine tasks.

This hands-on role offers early exposure to institutional clients, senior executives and colleagues across Sales, Trading, Research and Banking, with a clear path towards managing client relationships and contributing directly to revenue.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A degree, ideally in finance, economics, accounting, business, mathematics or another analytical discipline, plus relevant internship or early-career experience.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in equities, capital markets and financial institutions.
  • The ability to absorb detailed research quickly and communicate clear, persuasive “so what?” conclusions.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail and an understanding of financial statements, valuation and market data.
  • Strong Excel skills, or the ability to develop them quickly, are important.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate across Sales, Trading, Research and Banking.
  • Initiative, ownership and the ability to deliver high-quality work while managing competing, time-sensitive priorities.
  • European or Japanese language skills are desirable but not required.
  • Comfort using generative AI, curiosity about emerging tools and the judgement to check outputs carefully.
  • Familiarity with automation, Python, Power BI or Bloomberg is helpful but not essential.

WHY JOIN US

You will gain early responsibility and direct exposure to institutional investors, senior executives and experienced colleagues across Research, Sales, Trading and Banking, with structured on-the-job development in equity markets, financial analysis and client relationships.

The anticipated base salary for the role is £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus and significant scope to develop responsibilities, client ownership and earning potential over time.

If you are curious, commercially minded and motivated to turn research and market developments into actionable client ideas, we would like to hear from you.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can develop and succeed.
