Equity Research MBA Intern Programme 2027 - Hong Kong

Business Unit Equity Research Job description

Title: Equity Research MBA Analyst Summer Intern

Department: Equity Research Location: Hong Kong Duration: 12 weeks

Who we are

Do you feel passionate about becoming an investor and making a real difference to our clients’ futures?

We’ve been helping clients plan and invest for their futures for over 50 years. From more than 25 locations around the world, we provide investment services and retirement expertise to everyone from central banks to private individuals. We’re known for acting with integrity and thinking for the long-term. And across our organisation, we foster a welcoming, caring and inclusive culture where people feel respected, trusted and able to be themselves.

Our Summer Internship Programme offers you unrivalled access to information, experts, and industry leaders.

Research Analysts at Fidelity meet with company management, speak to their customers, competitors, suppliers, and industry experts to fully understand their chances of success or failure, and to forecast how their share prices are likely to evolve over the coming years.

Over the course of your 12 weeks with us, you will learn how our team of analysts formulate investment theses to advise portfolio managers.

The team you’ll join

The Equity Research team consists of approximately 125 global equity analysts, supported by an additional 90 research specialists located across China and India. Together, they provide in-depth analysis of companies, industries, and sectors while working closely with portfolio managers to identify investment opportunities and generate long-term value for clients.

What you’ll be doing

During the 12-week programme, you will gain hands-on experience that closely mirrors the responsibilities of a full-time Equity Research Analyst. You will:

  • Conduct fundamental research and analysis on publicly listed companies
  • Build investment theses and develop buy, hold, or sell recommendations
  • Analyze a designated industry sector and coverage universe
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and senior research analysts
  • Utilize the same research resources, tools, and data available to our investment professionals
  • Receive mentorship from a Portfolio Manager or Senior Analyst
  • Engage regularly with senior leaders, including Directors of Research
  • Present your investment recommendations and findings to portfolio managers and research teams

Successful interns may receive a return offer for our full-time graduate programme upon graduation.

The difference you’ll make

Your work will contribute directly to investment insights that help our clients achieve their long-term financial goals. You'll support investment professionals in making informed decisions while developing the analytical, investment, and commercial skills needed for a successful career in asset management.

How you’ll be supported

You'll begin with a comprehensive onboarding programme, where you'll meet fellow interns and learn about Fidelity International, our culture, and our investment philosophy.

Throughout the internship, you'll benefit from:

  • Structured training sessions
  • Ongoing mentorship and coaching
  • Exposure to investment professionals across the organization
  • Real-world project experience
  • Continuous feedback and development support

Our goal is to help you build meaningful experience, expand your professional network, and explore a long-term career in investments.

What we’re looking for

We believe that potential matters more than any specific academic background. We're looking for first-year MBA students who demonstrate:

  • A genuine passion for investing and financial markets
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge assumptions
  • Initiative, resilience, and a growth mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Prior work experience of up to three years is preferred. As an international organization, strong English communication skills are essential.
