About our client
Our client is an established and independent investment company based in Munich. It invests only the partners' own capital, with no fund term and therefore a long-term horizon. It focuses on succession and growth situations at family- and owner-managed mid-sized companies across the DACH region, mainly in industrials, business services and healthcare (typical EBITDA of €3–8m, equity tickets of up to €30m per deal). The group has around ten portfolio companies with combined revenues of approx. €700m.
Most junior roles in investing teach you either transactions or operations. This analyst programme teaches you both. You'll build a broad investment and value creation toolkit early in your career, working closely with experienced partners in a small, entrepreneurial team in Munich.
Your learning journey: three stages, two perspectives
- Learn the deal side (3 months): Start in the deal team with an internship. You'll get to know the firm, the partners and the investment process, with a clear prospect of permanent employment after 3 months
- Learn how value is created (6–12 months): Subject to mutual fit, you move into a portfolio company as M&A/strategy associate or Chief of Staff, working side by side with management on strategic and M&A projects
- Bring it all together: Return to the deal team with a broad foundation in both transactions and operations, the kind of experience usually gained only years into a career
What you'll learn and gain
- Real deal exposure from day one: investment analysis, financial modelling, valuation and due diligence
- Operational experience inside a portfolio company, which is rare at junior level
- Direct mentoring and regular exchange with the partners in a values-driven culture
- Early responsibility in a small, hands-on team where your contribution is visible
- Targeted investment in your professional development and a clear path to a permanent role
Who we are looking for
- Strong Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in business, finance or a related field
- Internship experience at M&A advisories and/or private equity firms
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Curiosity and an eagerness to learn, quickly grasping new information and situations
- A hands-on team player who welcomes early responsibility
- Native-level German and fluent English
