Global Markets overview
Nomura's Global Markets business facilitates client transactions for a diverse group of institutions including corporations, governments and investment funds around the globe. Team outline
The Rates Structuring team designs, prices and executes bespoke interest rate and hybrid solutions for institutional clients, spanning derivatives, structured notes and funding solutions. The team sits at the centre of the desk, working daily with Trading, Sales, Legal, Middle and Back Office, and Technology.
Role description
Candidate will join an established Rates Structuring team and will work closely with other stakeholders including trading, sales, quants, Legal, Middle and Back-office teams. Responsibility includes supporting the structuring team in their day-to-day tasks, including pricing of derivatives and structured notes, note issuance workflow (term sheets, documentation follow-up, coordination with the issuance platform), and production of marketing pitches and client presentations. Candidate will also contribute to the automation of the desk's platform through Python development — pricing tools, data pipelines, reporting and monitoring. Role will give candidate the opportunity to immerse in the rates structuring environment and to obtain the relevant skill-set to operate as a rates structurer.
Candidate profile
- Degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Finance, Economics).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; interest in interest rate derivatives and structured products.
- Proficiency in Python; Excel an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; team player able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
